Celtic moved to a disused brickyard in 1892 and Celtic Park was born. The original turf was brought to the ground from Ireland. Quickly dubbed "paradise," by the late-1890's the ground could hold up to 45,000 spectators and included running & cycling tracks around the perimeter as well as a glassed in press box. Development of the ground by the late 1930's gave an official capacity of 80,000. Celtic Park held more spectators than any club ground in England but was the third largest club ground in Glasgow after Hampden Park and Ibrox. Unofficial peak capacity was around 92,000 for an Old Firm match in 1938.
