The Recreation Ground was the home of now defunct Aldershot FC who resigned from the league towards the end of the 1991-92 season of the Football League Fourth Division. The new Aldershot Town FC took over the Recreation Ground for the 92-93 season and played in League Two from 2008-13.
The Recreation Ground has been used by other clubs, most notably Chelsea Reserves.
