Description
Ayresome Park was designed by Archibald Leitch and was the home of Middlesborough FC from 1903 until 1997. The ground was site of one of the most famous upsets in World Cup history when North Korea defeated Italy 1-0 to advance to the quarter-finals of the 1966 tournament. The ground was demolished in 1997 but the gates survive at Riverside Stadium, the current home of Middlesborough FC.
